In the past, China and Brazil have strongly increased their trade, which in fact helped Brazil grow and develop, but in our view this phase is at an end and we must adopt a more intrinsic, complementary, investment partnership, especially with Chinese investors in Brazil.
The most traditional Chinese investment destinations are the US and Europe. We expect, however, strong investments in Latin America and especially in Brazil, a country with complementary economy and with essential products for the Chinese economy, starting a major turn in the relationship between the two countries.
We have worked in several selected economic sectors since our first operation with China in 2002. Some of them are: steel, oil & gas, automotive, construction, mining, agricultural, among others, adopting several operational models, such as the creation of Joint Ventures, SPEs, brokers, advisors, M&A, among others.
We are expecting a strong increase of Chinese investment in the areas of energy, infrastructure and agriculture.
Ipanema Investments is proud to be a member of the CBBC (China Brazil Business Council), the most renowned Think Tank for the development of China-Brazil relations which has among its members the business elite companies of both countries.
